LUNGE into something different....Fencing is fun, safe, exciting, & a great form of exercise! Fencing sharpens your agility, balance, confidence, reflexes, & even your mind! Our "Taste of Fencing" Courses are just that, they allow you to try the sport of fencing without making a long term commitment or costly investment.

The Taste of Fencing Courses consists of an hour class, once a week for five weeks. Additional classes are available, once your session is completed.  Fee includes use of required equipment; participants will need to buy a $20 glove at the first class. Please following the registration instructions below the session you are interested in.  Class size is limited and early registration is highly recommended.

The Bucks County Academy of Fencing was founded by Maestro Holbrow, Head Fencing Master, in January of 1981 and celebrated its 25th year on January 2nd, 2006. Occupying five times the space as the former facility in New Hope, BCAF's new home is the largest privately owned fencing facility on the east coast and among the three largest in the country according to the United States Fencing Association in Colorado.

Students must complete a 5-week “Taste of Fencing Course” (or equivalent) that includes safety, history, basic footwork and hand positions prior to joining an ongoing Introductory Foil Course.

*The Introductory Fencing Courses consist of a one-hour class, once a week. Students are accepted into the course on a "rolling admission" basis. There will be the opportunity for students to take more than one class per week if they choose. If you have to miss a class, you don't have to worry about getting left behind or scheduling make-up lessons. The instructors will be covering a basic set of defined skills in a repetitive rotation. Students will remain in the class until they have mastered this defined set of skills & "test out" before moving on to the next level. After successfully "graduating" from the Intro. Fencing course, a variety of advanced classes and additional practice and open bouting times are available.
